SERC Chile participated in this event through an engaging workshop where children learned how to construct a solar collector mirror.

The "Explora Party: Chile Natural Laboratory" was held at the Antofagasta Railroad Museum, drawing a significant number of schools and institutes.

SERC Chile and the Universidad de Antofagasta hosted a stand providing information on solar energy storage technologies, which also allowed younger participants to create solar collector mirrors using educational materials. Children and youth of various ages built mirrors and engaged with the materials provided, enabling them to witness a practical application of this technology.

Ángel Fernández, a postdoctoral researcher in Line 4 (Solar Energy Storage, SERC Chile), commented on the importance of the activity. "It is possible to organize workshops that motivate children to learn more about science in an engaging and sophisticated way, allowing them to perceive it as a constant presence in their lives," he explained.

The Dean of the Universidad de Antofagasta highlighted the importance of this initiative, which enables the university to engage with the community and disseminate information on these critical topics. "This is a collaborative effort involving the university, academia, the community, and public services. Through such alliances, children and the general public can learn about the significance of solar energy and how it can improve their quality of life," he stated.

The SERC Chile stand also featured various presentations on storage applications involving different molten salts, among other projects.
