Professor Luis Morán, deputy director of SERC Chile, has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the Universidad de Concepción.

Luis Morán is an academic in the Department of Electrical Engineering and leader of the SERC Chile research line "High-power electrical systems with solar energy penetration".

According to the Universidad de Concepción website, his work proposal seeks to capitalize on the significant momentum the academic unit is experiencing across various areas, such as the development of the Strategic Plan for the Ingeniería 2030 project, to generate the necessary changes, actions, and progress to promote the leadership of the UdeC Faculty of Engineering.

Morán will succeed the current head of the Faculty, Joel Zambrano, who held the position for six consecutive terms between 1998 and 2016.
