The presentation of the paper “On the Control of a Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Plant under Non-Uniform Insolation” by Miguel Torres, Carlos Baier, José Silva, and José Espinoza won the award for best presentation in its session at the IEEE IECON 2014 conference, held in Dallas, Texas, U.S.A., from October 29 to November 1, 2014.The paper evaluates the performance of a control strategy for a large-scale grid-connected photovoltaic plant using multi-cell converters as a power source and demonstrates the effects of uneven power output from the photovoltaic modules.
