The first Workshop on Research Strategies in Solar Energy and Basic Sciences is an international event organized by SERC Chile and the CMM (through the CONICYT-DRI project REDERG008), where the future of basic sciences related to solar energy and its research strategies will be discussed.
During the meeting, various national and international speakers will analyze the fundamentals of physics in relation to solar energy, as well as the main opportunities for future technological development and advances in the field of basic sciences.
This workshop will stimulate discussion among various decision-makers regarding national strategies for solar energy research.
It is aimed at
- Academics and researchers related to physics and solar energy.
- Technology developers interested in solar energy applications.
- Engineers related to the solar energy sector.
- Postgraduate students interested in solar energy research.
The workshop will take place on January 23, 24, 27, and 28, 2014, in the Hall of Presidents of the National Congress Building in Santiago (Morandé 441).
Furthermore, on January 27, within the framework of the same event, a Mini-Symposium: Integration of solar energy and strategic energy management in urban transport systems will be held, where the research area related to solar energy applications in urban transport systems will be discussed and analyzed, along with efficiency measures to reduce consumption in the transport sector.
This meeting will focus on an open discussion to explore future cooperation alternatives between urban planning, transport, and solar energy.
Additionally, as a complementary activity, an Introduction to Solar Energy for Chile course, taught by Professor Roberto Román, will take place on January 21 and 22. This is an introductory course with open attendance, covering various solar energy conversion methods, basic software management, and other topics.
