Representatives from each of SERC Chile's research areas discussed potential areas for future cooperation.

On September 25, in one of the conference rooms at the University of Chile’s Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, members of SERC Chile held a meeting with representatives of the Fraunhofer Research Foundation, a German-Chilean organization dedicated to the promotion, development, and implementation of applied research in various industrial sectors.

The workshop was attended by two Fraunhofer delegates: Rodrigo Palma, director of SERC Chile; Alejandra Matus, general manager of the center; as well as researchers Ana María Ruz (Line 1), Claudia Rahmann (Line 2), Héctor Galleguillos (Line 4), Lorena Cornejo (Line 5), Claudio Agostini (Line 6), and Pilar Moraga (Line 6).

The meeting began with a brief presentation on the mission and work of SERC Chile, led by Rodrigo Palma, who highlighted the formula used to measure its results.

“We are not only pursuing research, but also seeking to contribute knowledge to society in order to foster a new understanding of the use of solar energy,” said the director.

The meeting continued with an overview of the objectives, projects, methodologies, and challenges identified by each research area, presented by their respective representatives. This was followed by an open discussion in which potential avenues for cooperation were explored, and progress was made in defining the specific areas of study for each institution, with the goal of avoiding duplication of efforts.
