To mark the first anniversary of the Atacama Module and System Technology Center (AtaMoS Tec), the international seminar "Solar energy opportunities in the energy transition" will be held on Wednesday, January 16.
The project's general manager, Bárbara Silva, will open this meeting, characterizing the conclusion of the first year as a success: "We are very pleased, as we were able to develop a module adapted to the conditions of the Atacama Desert. This goal was scheduled for 2020 and we will have it installed in 2019."
Speakers include Verónica Bermúdez, Director of the Energy Research Area at the Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute; Aisen Etcheverry, Advisor to the Ministry of Economy; Cristián Mansilla, General Manager of Phibrand; Rodrigo Mancilla, Executive Director of the Corfo Solar Committee; and Delfina Muñoz, International Coordinator of CEA-Ines.
The seminar, open to the public, will be held between 8:30 and 12:30 at the Hotel Diego de Almagro in Providencia (Av. Pío X 2530).

January 19 formally marks one year since the commencement of AtaMoS Tec, a public-private initiative promoted by SERC Chile, led by the University of Antofagasta, and having as co-executors the University of Chile, Federico Santa María Technical University, University of Concepción, Adolfo Ibáñez University, CEA INES (France), ISC Konstanz (Germany), Fraunhofer Chile, and Phibrand S.A. Associate companies include Colbún, Mondragón, Cintac, Ecovisión, Solarpro, Innova Renovable, Snare, Syntec, Borg, Ecoenergías, Fotcast, Geogrow Spa, Novalquimia, New Energy, Solcor, Tecno Andina, Venergía, Adrox Spa, and Vidrios Lirquén S.A.
It will be a week of various activities. This international seminar will be joined by two internal workshops and the launch of the outdoor equipment area, which will allow for new project developments. This launch will take place on Friday the 18th in Antofagasta.
