The event was organized by the Financiero newspaper.
The 17th business edition of this event was held at Viña Santa Rita in Alto Jahuel and was attended by high-ranking government officials and local representatives of the private sector. The best public-private initiatives of 2013 were recognized at this event.
The ceremony featured 12 categories, including Best Venture, Best Business Operation, Best International Expansion, Best Public Sector Initiative, Sustainability Award, Best Regional Development, Sustainability Award, Best Image and Publicity, Best Financial Operation, Innovation Award, Best Entrepreneurship Sponsor, and Best Public-Private Initiative, in which SERC Chile won first prize.
The creation of SERC Chile was highlighted for its contribution to the study of the factors that limit the development of solar energy in our country, emphasizing the potential of the Atacama Desert and the collaboration of the universities of Tarapacá, Antofagasta, Chile, Adolfo Ibáñez, de Concepción, Técnica Federico Santa María, and Fundación Chile.
They also highlighted the work of its six research areas, particularly solar energy in our industry; water treatment for desalination, disinfection, and decontamination using solar energy; and power coordination systems in rural and urban communities, among others.
