The presentation of the paper “On the Control of a Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Plant under Non-Uniform Insolation” by Miguel Torres, Carlos Baier, José Silva, and José Espinoza was awarded the prize for best presentation in its session at the 2014 IEEE IECON conference, held in Dallas, Texas, USA, from October 29 to November 1, 2014. The project evaluates the performance of a control strategy for a large-scale grid-connected photovoltaic plant using multi-cell converters as a power source, and it demonstrates the effects of uneven energy production among photovoltaic modules.
