The Chilean-German Industrial High School of Frutillar will play a central role in this strategic alliance between the education sector and industry.

SERC Chile (Solar Energy Research Center) welcomes the signing of an agreement by the municipality of Frutillar to complement collaborative efforts with the University of Chile’s Energy Center and Frutillar’s Municipal Center for Energy and Electromobility Innovation, the latter of which will soon have its own headquarters in the city.

The launch event was attended by Rodrigo Palma, director of SERC Chile, who emphasized the importance of each city in the country responding to the current demands of the energy and electromobility industries. “We want to focus on helping prepare students to tackle the challenges of the energy transition by exploring the necessary skills, training opportunities, and strategic partnerships between the education sector and industry,” he said.

In addition, together with Nicolás Beghelli, co-founder of Minverso—the world’s first mining metaverse and one of the nine metaverse platforms worldwide—they expressed their interest in addressing the human capital challenges in the energy industry and exploring its prospects through a partnership with the Chilean-German Industrial High School in Frutillar.

Julio Brintrup, a civil and industrial engineer from the Universidad Austral de Chile, who holds a master’s degree in Innovation from the Catholic University of Chile (UC) and serves as director of the Los Lagos Regional Innovation Center, served as the moderator for the event.

Among the panelists were Cristian Santibáñez, principal of the Chilean-German Industrial High School in Frutillar; Mauricio Henríquez, a civil and aerospace engineer with extensive experience in both the private and public sectors at companies in the energy, aeronautics, and mining industries; Juan Carlos Vera, an aquaculture engineer from Andrés Bello University with more than 19 years of experience in the aquaculture industry; and Víctor Altamirano, founder and CEO of EQ.Transport.IA and an industrial engineer specializing in the maintenance of marine aquaculture farms.
